i wish i could get that from people

it occurred to me the other day why i have an aversion to shooting people

i was in a store and a lady asked me to take a picture of her
i knew i didnt want to, so i told her taking pictures costs money and my film is practically done
at which point she persisted
to which i didnt know how to respond nicely
so i gave a charming smile and left while i heard her or her friend telling me i need to work on my tact

lucky i was trying to be nice (which i was only being because i had to leave my watch there and in her supervision)

anyways
back to the original topic of discussion
to put it simply
people are just too goddamn vain

either they're telling you to take pictures you dont want to take

or they're doing some corny pose as soon as you pick up your camera

for me
its not about taking pictures OF anyone or anything

its capturing the lines, shapes and their interactions with each other

basically to create a composition that pleases the eye or elicits some emotion
whether the subject is a face or a screw on a door hinge

people need to get over they're goddamned selves

no i dont want to take a picture of you
i want to capture an image of which you may or may not be a part
hmph!

so i bought these lenses and a camera right
and i just got my first rolls of film shot with them developed
and whats more
they were some of the first shots ive taken in a good while that i generally liked

awesome right?
thats what i though

till i noticed the resolution they scanned my film at

1500 x 1000 px @ 256 dpi

WTF?!?!?
what do they expect me to be able to do with a resolution that low?
i'd be lucky to print an 8x6 with that

FUCK!

and i dont really have the patience to go get the reels scanned again

*sigh*
i suppose next time i'll just have to specify
